New Delhi: Neeraj Bishnoi -- the main accused in the Bulli Bai app case -- who was arrested from Assam's Jorhat has threatened to suicide in Delhi police custody, said DCP of Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) special cell KPS Malhotra.

According to the police, the accused has tried to harm himself twice.

''He is stable and unharmed. The suicide threat may be due to his mental condition or maybe he wants to delay the investigation,'' the police official said.

"The accused has confessed that he knows the creators of 'Sulli Deal', the app where Muslim women were auctioned. He has also accepted that he has access to the user account of Sweta Singh, who has been arrested by Mumbai police", added Malhotra.

Recently, Delhi Police's special cell led by Malhotra nabbed him from Assam.

Bishnoi is a resident of the Jorhat village of Assam. He is a second year B.Tech, computer science student doing course from Vellore Institute of Technology, Bhopal.

Earlier, the Mumbai Police had already arrested three persons, including an 18-year-old girl Shweta Singh, one 21-year-old Mayank Rawat, a DU student and one engineering student Vishal Kumar Jha.

The arrests by the Mumbai Police were made from Bengaluru and Uttrakhand. Vishal Jha and Mayank are on police remand while the police custody of Shweta ended on January 5.

According to police, Bishnoi had, in October, had created a list of women whom he wanted to defame online on his digital devices, a laptop, and cell phones. He was tracing women activists all over social media and downloading their photos.

On January 1, this app, which was performing on Github's space, posted photos of a number of women of a particular religion. These included journalists, social workers, students, and famous personalities. It happened six months after the controversy of Sulli Deals.
